A little about the nursery. . . . .

 

Fledgelings is situated in the hub of Grove Green, in Maidstone, Kent and provides a high standard of care and education for children aged 2 to 5 years of age.

 

 

                                             

 

 

A high adult to child ratio is essential in providing good quality care.  Here at Fledgelings we work to a ratio of 1 member of staff to a maximum of 5 children (aged 3 years and above), unlike many nurseries, who operate on the minimum staffing ratios of 1 adult to 8 children (aged 3 years and above).

 

I own and run the nursery with a very, hands on approach.

My team of highly dedicated staff include Jo, Nursery Supervisor and key worker, Tina, Lucy and Gill, key workers and Kathy, nursery assistant and between us all we have many, many, many, many years of childcare experience.

 

                                     

 

Our key worker system ensures that each child and family has one particular staff member who takes a special interest in them.

  

Whilst it is necessary for the key worker to form a close attachment with the child, to facilitate settling in as well as encouraging competence in all areas of child development, each member of staff has a crucial part to play in the all round development of every child.
